Boonoona Open – 2010

Racing in Cross Country Week 2010 in Perisher and surrounding areas started in the traditional way with the running of the Boonoona Open. This may sound unremarkable, except that everything is remarkable about this season. It was very uncertain that there would be a Cross Country Week in 2010 at all until a few days before the event. Just enough snow has fallen and been regularly topped up to ensure that the Boonoona and the other events will happen as they should.

Thanks to NPWS, a dedicated groomer and just enough snowfall, the Boonoona and other XC Week events are being held on well-groomed tracks and with all the expected trappings of winter (i.e. shocking weather for the KAC).

Thanks also to Boonoona Ski Club and City Tatts for their ongoing support of the Nordic Shelter and NSW cross country skiers.

Results from the Boonoona Open can be accessed through the attached link.
