Kangaroo Hoppet Post-Race Update

The following email update from the Kangaroo Hoppet includes information about On-line Results, Photos, Lost Property, Biathlon Rollerski World Championship and Hoppet Promotional Material for skiers heading overseas.

Dear skiers,

The results of this year’s event can be viewed on-line at the Hoppet website (www.hoppet.com.au)

Click on the results link for your event, search for your name or number, then, if you wish, you can print your own certificate with your name, time and event.

Photos can be viewed at the TopShots web page (www.fallscreekphotos.com.au) Click here for the Link to Kangaroo Hoppet Photos.

We have very little lost property, but Olympic Biathlon representative, Kerryn Rim, lost a valuable pair of sunglasses which she left beside the track after damaging them in a fall. When she returned, they were gone.  If you picked up Kerryn’s RUDI Project sunglasses, please let me know as she would love to get them back even though the white frame was broken.

Our two youngest Kangaroo Hoppet podium finishers this year, Lucy Glanville, 16, and Alex Almoukov, 21, celebrated by heading to Europe where they competed in the Biathlon Summer  World Championships (roller skiing and shooting) in Nove Mesto, in the Czech Republic last weekend.

In the junior women, Lucy finished 48th in the 7.5km sprint event and qualified for the 10km pursuit, a fantastic result for someone so young, while Alex managed 12th in the junior men’s 10 km sprint and then 10th in the pursuit. A wonderful effort.

Going overseas to ski this summer? If you are interested in promoting our event, we can organise some promotional materials, stickers, postcards, etc., that you can take with you to give away. Just drop us an email telling us where and when you are going.

Thanks for your support this year. It was a very difficult time leading up to the race, with the snow receding day by day. For many of us and you, the Kangaroo Hoppet is the culmination of much planning and preparation (and training?) We have appreciated all the positive feedback and were pleased that we were able to hold an event, albeit with shorter courses than usual.

I hope we see you again next year.

Warmest regards
