Tahoe Training and West Yellowstone Race Report

I’ll admit straight away that I have been super lazy with the updates on this trip so far but hopefully I will make up for it with the Pure Awesomeness of the post that follows!

So a lot has happened between now and the last post – most good but some unfortunate.

A very cold over distance ride above Tahoe City

Over the 4 weeks that we were in Tahoe, around 3 weeks of those were on snow with another 2 storms coming through and topping up the cover of white stuff. It was in that 1 week of no snow that Paul-Break-a-Pole-Kovacs managed to lose his title, not by his own doing, but through my unfortunate incident. Victorian Ski Chase – Skike Prize Winner

The winner of the Vic Ski Chase grand prize of the new model V07-PLUS skikes is Lou Sanderson.  Lou’s numbers came up in the prize draw at the SXCV meeting in Melbourne last Saturday.  Lou’s skikes will be presented to her at a beginner skike session at Westerfolds Park Templestowe this Sunday afternoon at 3pm.   Come along yourself and give skiking a go (details below). A Quick Update – Paul Kovacs

Paul Kovacs. Elite Cross-Country Skier

So again this will be quite a quick blog, the past few days here have amazing. Cool mornings which means the snow is frozen hard up top and then from lunch time onwards it’s so warm we are in shorts and a T-shirt. Training has been going well skiing in the mornings and then running or gym normally in the afternoon.

The snow around the house is almost all melted but up top there is still a lot so we have been driving up. We have been joined a few times with some of the local ski team’s senior athletes which has been great and then chilling with them post training.

Callum and I had our first ever taste of a proper Halloween, we had to carve some pumpkins for the local ski team sponsorship dinner which was also a dress up party, so a lot of fun. Callum and…
