Davos Sprint World Cup

Australian Phil Bellingham finished the skate sprint World Cup in Davos in 61st place out of 95 starters or in 64% of the field. Phil was seven seconds behind the winner and less than three seconds from making the top 30. His time was 5.5% of the winners which translated to 67 FIS points. A great results!

Callum Watson finished in 88th place 16 seconds behind the winner and on debut Jackson Bursill finished in 93rd out of the 95 starters 23 seconds behind the winner.

In the women’s event Esther Bottomley was the lone Australian and she finished in 63rd place in a competitive field of 69. Esther was 19 seconds behind the fastest qualifier.

Overall and to the surprise of no one it was Norway, Norway, Norway, Norway, Norway in the women and Norway, Norway, Norway in the men. Norway’s early dominance of the World Cup circuit this season has been remarkable.
