Half an Adventure

Jackson and Nick have been on the road for 6.5 hours, driving across half of Germany to Oberwiesenthal, near the Czech border and in the old Eastern Bloc. We have reached our village of Tellerhäuser, and are searching for number 7a. We drive up through the village, don’t see our accommodation, drive back through the village, miss it again, and then eventually find what must be our place. We turn off down a relatively steep and snowy driveway, not even considering the grave consequences of what we were doing. We get to the bottom of the driveway, I walk up to the house door, only to find that it’s number 7, not 7a. We give reversing back up the driveway a go, but succeed only in spinning our wheels.

I decide to knock on the door to ask the guy to move his car a little forward so we can…
