XC Futures Camps – Canberra and Sydney

Ski & Snowboard Australia together with Snowsports ACT and NSW Cross Country have just announced two Cross Country Skiing Futures Sessions coming up in Canberra and Sydney in the next 2-3 weeks. The first training day is on Sunday April 28 in Canberra, with the Sydney event on the following weekend May 4-5. Links to the full program and the registration page are listed here:

The SSA Futures Sessions feature coaching from National Team athletes and coaches and are aimed at junior athletes interested in competing at Interschool, club and state level competitions. The Canberra Session is for athletes aged 10-15, while the Sydney Session is for athletes aged 12-18.

Trnka and Morton(s) dominate 2013 Australian Rollerski Championship

The 2013 Australian Rollerski Championship was held last Saturday April 13 in Canberra. Anna Trnka from Mt Beauty made a clean sweep of the women’s events, winning the Sprint, Criterium and Hill Climb convincingly. On the men’s side Damon Morton from Marlo won the Sprint and Criterium events after a close battle with his father Cameron Morton, while Alasdair Tutt from Wangaratta won the Hill Climb. Matt Bull from Sydney won all three U16 Junior events (there were no female junior athletes competing).
